.NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic TLD is the single TLD planned for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level names remained active.

Through our firm, you can secure your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to switch the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no special regulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.

The dot NAME domain extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the proper spelling in your native language.
